In Ayurveda, this condition is caused due to the imbalance in 3 doshas Kapha, Vata and pita. The imbalance of doshas in our body produces toxin buildup on the scalp which accumulates in the deeper tissues of the scalp. Both these doshas can cause the production of impurities in the scalp. These impurities are further converted into contamination which causes flaky patches and itching.

Prolonged intake of cold water

When you take a prolonged amount of cold water it can cause dandruff according to Ayurveda. Extremely cold water hinders the absorption of nutrients and slows down the digestion system.

Vata dosha

A person with Vata doshas imbalance experiences dry flakes, tightening sensation, irritation and roughness. It further transformed into scalp irritation and dandruff.

Kapha Doshas

Kapha doshas on the other hand is indicated by sticky and oily dandruff which is accompanied by a heavy feeling on the scalp. Due to these, the scalps shed larger amounts of epidermal cells that further lead to dandruff.

Kapha imbalance

On the other hand, Kapha imbalance is indicated as oily and sticky dandruff which is accompanied by a heavy feeling on the scalp. By adopting suitable Ayurvedic remedies you can improve your conditions.

Excessive exposure to UV rays

Excessive exposure damages our hair and that’s why it is recommended to cover the hair when traveling. Additionally, lack of sleep can cause stress & cause dandruff.

Eating excessive salty foods

Diets high in salt & sugar, and processed food lead to insulin spikes that further lead to hormone stimulation and damage the skin and scalp. This is why it is recommended to avoid refined sugar & processed food.

Promoting natural healing for Dandruff with Ayurveda

Ayurvedic methods for getting rid of dandruff include doing exercises that balance the doshas. Dandruff, or flaking of the scalp, is a result of these doshas getting worse. Ayurvedic treatments pinpoint the root cause and address it entirely using a variety of techniques, including massage, individualized diet regimens rich in nutrient-dense foods, and lifestyle adjustments.

At Ayur Bethaniya Ayurveda Hospital, we think that dandruff should be properly treated and the imbalance that causes it should be eliminated. The treatment approach calls for balancing the Pitta and Vata doshas using a mix of herbal remedies, oils, massage, a certain diet, and a few lifestyle changes.

Herbs that are specially combined are used to create hair growth-promoting oils and packs that chill, cleanse, and exfoliate the scalp while stimulating hair follicles to develop new hair.
